Football Game Preview: Moorhead Spuds vs. Edina Hornets

The Moorhead Spuds are taking a road trip to square off against the Edina Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Moorhead will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Moorhead is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Lakeville South by a score of 26-14. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Spuds were the (much) better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Edina made off with a 42-41 victory over Minnetonka. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted against the Skippers since November 6, 2020.

Edina's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Moorhead, their win bumped their record up to an identical 8-4.

Moorhead was able to grind out a solid victory over Edina when the teams last played back in October, winning 51-44. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Hornets' Jabari Strader, who rushed for 897 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 47.2 yards per carry.
