Basketball Recap: Vanden Takes a Loss

Vanden lost against Clovis North back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Vanden Vikings came up short against the Clovis North Broncos, falling 69-47. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Vanden still got an impressive performance from James Carraway, who went 5 of 9 en route to 16 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Carraway has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isiah Dixon, who posted seven points and 13 boards.

Vanden's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Clovis North, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Vanden and Clovis North should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Vanden will challenge Pioneer at 7:30 p.m. on Monday up 917 places (126 vs. 1043). Vanden is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Similarly, Clovis North (ranked 20th) will meet Clovis East (ranked 71st) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
