Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Escambia). They came out on top against the West Florida Jaguars by a score of 13-8 on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Gators as they're now sitting on five straight.
Cohen Rush and Caleb Bates were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Rush pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Bates didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Rush has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Rush went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI, while Bates went 1-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs Bates has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Gavin Wansley and Clayton Sanders did most of the damage at the plate: Wansley went 2-for-4 with four runs and one double, while Sanders went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
