Basketball Recap: Lower Lake Gets the Win

Lower Lake's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 40-28 win over the Hoopa Valley Warriors. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Brooke Watson was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted 12 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in field goal percentage (60%). Another player making a difference was Jamiya Lee-Ayers, who had nine points and five boards.

The victory got Lower Lake back to even at 1-1. As for Hoopa Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Lower Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-36 loss against Windsor on the 5th. As for Hoopa Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-36 win against Point Arena on the 5th.
