Basketball Recap: Mater Lakes Academy Takes a Loss

Mater Lakes Academy and American Heritage squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Mater Lakes Academy had to settle for second. They were beaten by the American Heritage Patriots 81-33. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Mater Lakes Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Juliet Morillo, who posted six points and nine boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played. Vanessa Vancott was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Mater Lakes Academy's loss dropped their record down to 20-10. As for American Heritage, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Mater Lakes Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. American Heritage will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Rickards at 1:00 p.m. on March 4th.
