Basketball Recap: Purnell Swett Finds Home Court Redemption Against North Brunswick

There's no place like home for Purnell Swett, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 59-51 victory over the North Brunswick Scorpions on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Scorpions on Friday, they had to take a 79-48 defeat.

Several Scorpions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jack Baker, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. With that strong performance, Baker is now averaging an impressive 2.5 steals per game. Another player making a difference was MJ Smith, who posted 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Purnell Swett's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for North Brunswick, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Purnell Swett will host Douglas Byrd at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for North Brunswick, they are taking a road trip to face off against East Bladen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
