Softball Recap: Cambridge Takes Down Jones County in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cambridge walked away with it. They skirted past the Jones County Greyhounds 4-2. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered a 1-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Lily Kimball spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Annie Womack was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in October of 2024. Alex Becker also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Cambridge has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Jones County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-7.

Cambridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Greyhounds: the pair will be back at it again later today.
