Basketball Recap: Worth County Rams vs. Cook Hornets
After flying high against the Jeff Davis Yellowjackets last Friday, the Worth County Rams came back down to earth. Worth County took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Worth County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jariah Williams, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds, and Za?Liah Howard who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Mikhayla Stephens was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Worth County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Cook, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season.
Worth County and the Purple Hurricane will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Fitzgerald is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Cook will take on the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jeff Davis is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
