Volleyball Recap: Wesclin Takes a Loss

Wesclin lost against Staunton back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Wesclin sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 20-25, 25-20.

Maura Wessel paced Wesclin's offense, picking up 11 kills. Wessel got some help from Haiden Mueller and her 28 assists. Myla Friederich controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Wesclin's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Staunton, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Wesclin will challenge Freeburg at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Staunton, they will square off against Vandalia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
