Basketball Recap: Coastal Homeschool Piles Up the Points Against Veritas Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coastal HomeSchool). They really took it to the Veritas Academy Gryphon for the full four quarters, racking up an 87-42 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-22.

Coastal HomeSchool was led to victory by Alijah McField and CJ Addison. McField dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Addison dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance also gave McField a new career-high in assists (eight). Another player making a difference was Leo Sturgess, who posted six points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Coastal HomeSchool was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Coastal HomeSchool's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Veritas Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coastal HomeSchool didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 74-43 win against Providence Athletic Club on the 15th. As for Veritas Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Savannah Athletic Association at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
