Baseball Game Preview: Grant County Braves vs. Spencer County Bears

The Grant County Braves will take on the Spencer County Bears at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Grant County barely beat Cooper the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Grant County put the hurt on Cooper with a sharp 10-3 win on Wednesday. The victory was just business as usual for the Braves, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Luke Williams and Colton Alexander did most of the damage at the plate: Williams went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Alexander scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Seth Tucker was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Grant County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Spencer County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Male.

Spencer County's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Grant County, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
