Recap: Kim/Branson Mustangs vs. Granada Bobcats
Even though the Granada Bobcats scored an imposing 59 points on Thursday, the Kim/Branson Mustangs still came out on top. Kim/Branson skirted past Granada 62-59. This was payback for Kim/Branson, who suffered a 49-33 loss the last time these two teams met.
Kim/Branson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kolter Cranson, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Trotter Watkins, who scored 15 points.
When it comes to explaining why Granada lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maddox Coleman. Despite the final result, he scored 30 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Jonus Guevara was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Kim/Branson is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Granada, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10.
Kim/Branson's homestand continues as they prepare to take on South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] at 5:00 p.m. on February 10th. Hopefully South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday. As for Granada, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cheraw at 4:00 p.m. on February 9th.
