Volleyball Recap: Spruce Creek Comes Up Short

If Spruce Creek was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Flagler Palm Coast on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Spruce Creek fell just short of Viera by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. Spruce Creek was not able to make up for their loss to Viera from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Spruce Creek took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-14, 20-25, 25-18, 15-12.

Despite the loss, Spruce Creek still got an impressive performance from Logan Milan, who had 45 digs and three aces. Milan is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Webb, who had 16 assists and ten digs.

Spruce Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Viera, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-15 record this season.

Spruce Creek will host Matanzas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Viera does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
