Softball Recap: Seneca Golden Eagles vs. Shawnee Renegades
It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Seneca ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Shawnee Renegades, sneaking past 9-8. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Renegades recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Seneca got a great performance from Emily Buddendorf as she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts Buddendorf has posted since back in April.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jillian Watts, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Danny Martin, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Seneca lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Seneca's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Shawnee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.
