Basketball Game Preview: Charter Oak Chargers vs. Covina Colts

Charter Oak is on a four-game streak of home losses, Covina a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Charter Oak Chargers will host the Covina Colts at 6:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Charter Oak took a blow against Rowland, falling 70-27. The match marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Covina was able to grind out a solid victory over Northview on Tuesday, taking the game 48-37.

Covina has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Charter Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Charter Oak might still be hurting after the 53-31 defeat they got from Covina in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Charter Oak avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
