Football Game Preview: Franklinton Red Rams vs. Gray's Creek Bears + How To Watch

The Franklinton Red Rams will take on the Gray's Creek Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Gray's Creek better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Franklinton's game on Friday is any indication, that's when Franklinton really gets things going. The Red Rams blew past Vance County 44-13. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Red Rams' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Franklinton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amani Blacknall out in front who picked up 93 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Blacknall a new career-high in receiving touchdowns (two). Another passer making a difference was Keith James, who threw for 114 yards and two TDs.

Franklinton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Marj Hunt, Amaure Williams, and Harrison Long picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Vance County's side was Cameron Williams, who made 12 total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Gray's Creek lost to Terry Sanford at home by a 51-36 margin on Friday.

Franklinton's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Gray's Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
