Softball Game Preview: Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes vs. Monarch Knights

The Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes will venture away from home to take on the Monarch Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Pompano Beach will be strutting in after a win while Monarch will be coming in after a loss.

On Saturday, Pompano Beach was able to grind out a solid victory over Florida Christian, taking the game 6-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Tornadoes.

The team relied heavily on MACAYLA RICE, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Pompano Beach hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Monarch fell victim to Coral Springs Charter and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 14-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Knights were not able to get on the board.

Monarch now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Pompano Beach, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pompano Beach hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. However, it's not like Monarch struggles in that department as they've averaged .369. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
