Football Recap: Cedar Valley Takes a Loss

Cedar Valley extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They came up short against the Riverton Silverwolves, falling 30-7. The matchup was a close 9-7 at the break, but unfortunately for the Aviators it sure didn't stay that way.

As for Riverton, they now have a winning record of 3-2. Considering they have won three games by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Xander Thayer was his usual excellent self, throwing for 177 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 89 yards on only eight carries. Bennett Neilson was Thayer's top target, picking up 25 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in one rushing score.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Valley will take on Copper Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverton, they will venture away from home to square off against Bingham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Silverwolves will be up against the Miners' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
