Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Chambers). They blew past the Jasper Bulldogs 70-12 on Friday. Given the Buccaneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 547th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1256th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Chambers is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.2 points per game. As for Jasper, they dropped their record down to 4-12 with the loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.

East Chambers will take on Reeves in a tournament on Friday. As for Jasper, they will be taking part in a tournament against Hamshire-Fannett at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
