Volleyball Recap: Grand Valley Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Grand Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Basalt Longhorns. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Grand Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-19, 25-14, 25-19.

Neyli Rojas paced Grand Valley's offense, picking up eight kills. Rojas got some help from Kyleigh Hernandez and her 16 assists.

Grand Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Basalt, with the victory, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 6-10.

Grand Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Basalt, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Castle View on the 1st.
