Volleyball Recap: Seneca Takes Down Coal City in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Seneca had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Coal City Coalers on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Fighting Irish, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Seneca was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (74-72), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 19-25, 27-25.

Despite the loss, Coal City still got an impressive performance from Keirsten Gabehart, who had 13 digs. Another player making a difference was Stana Milinkovic, who had ten digs.

The win made it two in a row for Seneca and bumps their season record up to 24-11. As for Coal City, they now have a losing record of 16-17-1.

Seneca has already played their next matchup (against Manteno), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Coal City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
