Basketball Game Preview: Eastbrook Panthers vs. Mississinewa Indians

Eastbrook is 1-9 against Mississinewa since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Eastbrook Panthers will host the Mississinewa Indians at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Eastbrook has five straight victories, Mississinewa has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Eastbrook will bounce into Friday's match after beating Wabash, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Eastbrook narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Wabash 51-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since December 5, 2023.

Meanwhile, Mississinewa fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Frankton on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 49-47.

Despite the loss, Mississinewa saw an underclassman step up: freshman Rayveon Fetz went 7-for-13 on his way to 18 points. Fetz is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played. Tyvon Jacobs was another key player, putting up five points and five steals.

Eastbrook's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Mississinewa, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
