Millard South faced Papillion-LaVista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Patriots fell 8-4 to the Monarchs. The Patriots' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Roy Steventon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Logan Wick, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Millard South's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 23-10. As for Papillion-LaVista, they pushed their record up to 20-11 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
