The Leyden Eagles will face off against the Rolling Meadows Mustangs at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Leyden is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Leyden made easy work of Addison Trail and carried off an 11-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Elise Bertsche made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 6.2 innings pitched. Bertsche was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, Rolling Meadows lost 7-1 to Fremd on Saturday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rolling Meadows saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mary Linker, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Leyden's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-6. As for Rolling Meadows, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
Leyden's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Eagles have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game.
