Football Game Preview: Princeton Bulldogs vs. Pasquotank County Panthers

Two dominant backs in Teo McPhatter and Jayon Harris are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Princeton Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Pasquotank County Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Princeton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 54-18 victory over Beddingfield. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-12.

Princeton found their leader in sophomore McPhatter, who rushed for 226 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 44 yards and a pair of TDs.

Princeton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 337 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 205 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Princeton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of McPhatter and Devyne Maxwell.

Meanwhile, Pasquotank County hadn't done well against Northeastern recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way two weeks ago. The Panthers walked away with a 21-14 win over the Eagles.

The critical scores for Pasquotank County came from Trenton Whidbee, Harris, and Tyrell Williams.

Princeton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.6 points over those games. As for Pasquotank County, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Princeton has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 334 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pasquotank County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 197.3 rushing yards.
