Hapeville Charter extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping them up to 5-4. They strolled past the KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 35-18. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Warriors are ranked 247th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Keylan Pope looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 138 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine passes, while also punching in one score on the ground.

Hapeville Charter didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited KIPP Atlanta Collegiate to a completion percentage of just 33.3%. The Hornets weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 50%.

Hapeville Charter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Zion Crawford, Xzavier Crawford, and Patrick Reddick picked up one apiece.

As for KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. They gained 59 more yards on the day, but it was Hapeville Charter that made the best use of them.

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malachi Heard, who picked up 66 receiving yards and one touchdown. Heard showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 66 yards. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate also got a significant boost from Christopher Wilson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 88 yards.
