Recap: First Assembly Christian Academy Eagles vs. Corinth Christian Academy Warriors
The First Assembly Christian Academy Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 30 points or more this season. They blew past Corinth Christian Academy, posting a 63-27 victory at home. The win was just what First Assembly Christian Academy needed coming off of a 67-44 loss in their prior match.
First Assembly Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ta'Bryant Wooden led the charge by scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. The match was Wooden's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Pascuma, who scored 18 points.
Despite the loss, Corinth Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Alden Hughes, who scored nine points. Hughes scored a full 33.3% of Corinth Christian Academy's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kyler Hart, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
First Assembly Christian Academy pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Corinth Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Assembly Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against HEART HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. HEART HomeSchool is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Corinth Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
