Basketball Recap: John Carroll Catholic Takes a Loss

John Carroll Catholic lost against King's Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The John Carroll Catholic Rams fell just short of the King's Academy Lions by a score of 50-47. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, John Carroll Catholic still got an impressive performance from Brandon James, who posted 12 points. Joaquin Ruiz was another key player, putting up five points and three blocks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead King's Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Matt Mcpherson, who put up 16 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Ardin Jeanty, who had 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.

John Carroll Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for King's Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

John Carroll Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-37 defeat against Okeechobee on the 24th. As for King's Academy, they will square off against Elite Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elite Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something King's Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
