Basketball Recap: La Joya Community Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins at Home + How To Watch

After flying high against Alhambra on Monday, La Joya Community came back down to earth. The Fighting Lobos fell just short of the Crismon Rattlers by a score of 58-56 on Thursday. The Fighting Lobos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rattlers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Several Fighting Lobos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaseer Willis, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 19 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Carter, who posted 17 points and seven boards.

La Joya Community's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3. As for Crismon, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.

La Joya Community didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-33 win against Metro Tech on the 5th. As for Crismon, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Saguaro at 7:00 p.m. The Rattlers' defense better be ready for this one: the Sabercats have averaged an impressive 87.5 points per game this season.
