Basketball Game Preview: Columbine Rebels vs. Arapahoe Warriors

The Columbine Rebels and the Arapahoe Warriors will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Columbine knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Arapahoe likes a good challenge.

Columbine is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Legend just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 74-61 defeat to the Titans.

Columbine might have lost, but man, Cash Boykin was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 31 points and 14 boards. The contest was Boykin's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Seth Hickman was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Arapahoe faced Kent Denver in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Arapahoe took an 80-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kent Denver.

Columbine's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Arapahoe, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Columbine suffered a grim 58-32 defeat to Arapahoe when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Columbine avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
