Football Game Preview: Vallejo Redhawks vs. Saint Mary's Panthers + Official Tickets

Vallejo and Saint Mary are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2018, but not for long. The Redhawks will host the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vallejo will be strutting in after a victory while Saint Mary's will be coming in after a defeat.

Vallejo gave up the first points on Thursday, but they didn't give up any more after. They strolled past De Anza with points to spare, taking the game 27-13.

Carlisto Valetino had a dynamite game, rushing for 137 yards on only 15 carries, while also picking up 33 receiving yards and two scores. Those 137 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jevonte Hines was another key player, picking up 114 receiving yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Saint Mary's was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Salesian College Preparatory 54-21. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 948th, while the Pride are ranked 425th).

Although Saint Mary's took the loss, they still got scores from Adam Steiner and Aluzio Zarnowiecki.

Saint Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Vallejo, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Everything came up roses for Vallejo against Saint Mary's when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 54-27 victory. Do the Redhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
