It was a good run, but Independence unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Beech Buccaneers by a score of 9-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 5-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Independence's record is now 15-8. As for Beech, their win bumped their record up to 16-10.

Coming up, Independence will host Centennial at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The last four games the Cougars have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Beech, they are taking a road trip to challenge Siegel at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
