After a string of 16 wins, Ludlowe's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenwich Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
Rebecca Karlsen paced Ludlowe's offense, picking up 12 kills. Karlsen got some help from Sidney Ogilvie and her 28 assists. Sofia Cilano controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Greenwich found their leader in sophomore Essa Walsh, who had five digs and five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Walsh.
Ludlowe's loss dropped their record down to 20-3. As for Greenwich, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-1.
Looking ahead, Ludlowe will square off against Staples at 6:30 p.m. on the 6th. As for Greenwich, they will be playing at home against Newtown at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
