Basketball Recap: Napoleon Comes Up Short

Napoleon lost against Perrysburg back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Napoleon Wildcats took a 71-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 74th).

Napoleon has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Perrysburg, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Napoleon has already played their next matchup (against Defiance), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Perrysburg will challenge Hilliard Bradley at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Perrysburg's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
