Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Christian Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Hardin Valley Academy last Monday, Santa Fe Christian came back down to earth. The Santa Fe Christian Eagles fell 77-69 to the St. Augustine Saints on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Saints are ranked 376th).

Santa Fe Christian's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-4. As for St. Augustine, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-12 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Fe Christian will face off against Francis Parker at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th. As for St. Augustine, they will challenge Victory Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Victory Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully St. Augustine likes a good challenge.
