Softball Recap: Cartersville Finds Home Field Redemption Against Pace Academy

There's no place like home for Cartersville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 12-9 win over the Pace Academy Knights on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hurricanes needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Sophia Harper was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Lakiaya Banks, who got on base in two of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Cartersville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 30-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Pace Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season.

Cartersville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-3 loss against Harris County on the 31st. Pace Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
