Wilmington Christian Academy took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They snuck past the Cape Fear Academy Hurricanes with a 51-46 victory. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 64-45 loss the last time these two teams met.

Wilmington Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Trent Davies, who shot 47% from the field en route to 26 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan McConekey, who posted six points and six rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Cape Fear Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alex Wolf went 8-for-16 to rack up 20 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Elijah Fajardo, who scored ten points.

Cape Fear Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Wilmington Christian Academy is taking a road trip to take on Norfolk Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cape Fear Academy, they will square off against Cardinal Gibbons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
