New Kent had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Lakeland Cavaliers on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant New Kent was: they took every set by at least 16 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-6, 25-9.
Leah Rounds paced New Kent's offense, picking up 12 kills. Rounds got some help from Desirae Stowe and her 21 assists. Rounds also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Carly Sachs, each putting up five.
New Kent's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Lakeland, they dropped their record down to 11-15 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
