While Rancho Cucamonga didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over Northview on Wednesday.
Rancho Cucamonga got a great performance from Mason Sanchez as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Sanchez has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brock Foulds, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Rowan Suchanek was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
Rancho Cucamonga was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ontario Christian). Everything went their way against Linfield Christian on Tuesday as Ontario Christian made off with an 11-2 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Tyler Fernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.
On the hitting side, Logan Escoto was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dean Cruz, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Rancho Cucamonga's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Ontario Christian, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-8.
