Basketball Game Preview: Wapakoneta Redskins vs. Kalida Wildcats

Having just played yesterday, the Wapakoneta Redskins will head out on the road to face off against the Kalida Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Wapakoneta came up short against Elida and fell 47-37. While losing is never fun, the Redskins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 138th).

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Wildcats on Friday. Kalida managed a 54-49 win over Miller City. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Kalida.

Kalida's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Wapakoneta, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Wapakoneta didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Kalida in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 43-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wapakoneta since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
