Soccer Game Preview: Urbandale vs. Ankeny

Urbandale is 0-6 against Ankeny since May of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The J-Hawks will look to defend their home pitch against the Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Urbandale fell victim to Waukee and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. While losing is never fun, Urbandale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Waukee are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Ankeny was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Northwest could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Ankeny's draw makes their record 5-2-1 this season. As for Urbandale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6-1.
