Baseball Recap: New Hanover Falls Short Against Ranked Laney

New Hanover faced Laney in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wildcats took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buccaneers. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Buccaneers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

New Hanover's defeat dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Laney, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. New Hanover will face off against rival Topsail at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Laney is set to challenge their familiar foe North Brunswick at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
