Basketball Recap: Alexis Kohl's Big Game Can't Quite Lead the Pinnacle over Fort Lupton

The Pinnacle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Fort Lupton Bluedevils, falling 57-37. The Timberwolves were not able to make up for their loss to the Bluedevils from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

The Pinnacle's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexis Kohl, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards. Another player making a difference was Violet Lozano Tapia, who posted eight points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.

Leading Fort Lupton to victory were Marely Gomez and Daniella Aviles. Gomez went 8 of 19 to rack up 19 points in addition to seven steals and five boards, while Aviles dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Gomez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Serenity Gallegos, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

The Pinnacle's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Fort Lupton, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

The Pinnacle has already played their next match, a 53-32 defeat against Jefferson on the 6th. As for Fort Lupton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-35 victory against Alameda on the 6th.
