League recap: Gordon races to league-leading run for DuPont Manual

6A District 4 recap November 5, 2013

DuPont Manual's Trae Gordon rumbled for the longest rushing play in 6A District 4 this season in his game against Eastern last week. Gordon's team defeated the Eagles as he sprinted for 93 yards on the play and finished with 181 in all.

Male and Christian Academy played the most contested game in the league this week, with Male eventually emerging with a 6-0 victory.

DuPont Manual's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mason Motley threw for 74 and 1 touchdown and Matthew Cissell had 36 yards receiving. On the ground Gordon contributed 181 yards. Eric Niemann helped DuPont Manual's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 21 yards.

Gordon provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Oliver Lucas' team beat Eastern. Gordon's favorite target this week was Cissell, who caught 2 passes for 36 yards.

Gordon was the most successful running back in the league this week. Teammate Michael Nero added to the ground attack by rushing for 124 yards.

DuPont Manual's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Crimsons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Motley has thrown for 1,662 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while William Blackford has 19 catches for 383 yards.

The Crimsons took down Stephen Ruckman's team 54-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Gordon during the win.
