Football Game Preview: Wallace Miners vs. Clark Fork Wampus Cats

Wallace is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Friday. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Clark Fork Wampus Cats at 7:00 p.m. Wallace's defense has only allowed 12.2 points per game this season, so Clark Fork's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Wallace is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Genesee/Colton WA, who was ranked 11th at the time (Wallace was ranked 14th). The Miners took a 22-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of Genesee/Colton WA on Friday. The contest marked the Miners' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Wallace might have lost, but man, Cooper Miller was a machine: he rushed for 167 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 126 yards and one touchdown. Miller is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last five games he's played.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Clark Fork's offense. They were outmatched by Lewis County co-op [Highland/Nezperce] and fell 46-0. The Wampus Cats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wallace fell to 5-1. As for Clark Fork, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Wallace against Clark Fork in their previous meeting back in September, as the team secured a 66-12 victory. In that matchup, the Miners amassed a halftime lead of 52-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
