Recap: Trico Pioneers vs. Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes
The Trico Pioneers were the 74-53 winner over the Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Trico was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 54-53 to Zeigler-Royalton. Trico has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
It was another big night for River Freeman, who scored 23 points for Zeigler-Royalton. Peyton Foster was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Trico bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Zeigler-Royalton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Trico won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Murphysboro at 7:45 p.m. on December 20th. Murphysboro presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Trico in Illinois (Murphysboro is ranked 239th, while Trico is ranked 654th). As for Zeigler-Royalton, they will head out on the road to face off against Sesser-Valier at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
