Softball Recap: Portsmouth Christian Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

It was a good run, but Portsmouth Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 5-0 to the Epping Blue Devils. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lexi Jordan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

Portsmouth Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Epping, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Portsmouth Christian Academy will take on rival Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Epping is set to challenge their familiar foe Wilton-Lyndeborough at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
