Basketball Recap: Blountstown's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Blountstown has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty County Bulldogs on Friday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cyion Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. What's more, Smith also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Braxton Sercye, who posted six points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Liberty County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Micheal Glisson led the charge by going 7 of 13 on his way to 22 points along with eight assists and three steals. Kashon Chambers was another key player, going 7 for 14 on his way to 17 points.

Blountstown's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-3. As for Liberty County, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Blountstown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-36 victory against Ponce De Leon on the 6th. As for Liberty County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 85-65 win against Wewahitchka on the 6th.
