Volleyball Recap: Blue Eye Takes a Loss

If Blue Eye was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Wheaton on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell 3-1 to the Billings Wildcats on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Billings scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 17-25, 25-19, 25-22.

When it comes to explaining why Blue Eye lost, don't look at Alyssa Dickelman. Despite the final result, she had 22 digs. Dickelman is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Billings can attribute much of their success to Andi Bellamy, who had 11 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Bellamy has posted since back in September.

Blue Eye's defeat dropped their record down to 23-8-3. As for Billings, they pushed their record up to 24-10-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Blue Eye does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Billings, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against New Heights Christian Academy on the 30th.
