Volleyball Game Preview: Wawasee Warriors vs. Northridge Raiders

Wawasee hasn't had much luck against Northridge recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Wawasee turned things around against South Bend Riley on Saturday. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 2-0.

Meanwhile, Northridge hadn't done well against NorthWood recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Raiders blew past the Panthers 3-0. The game was the first time the Raiders have beaten the Panthers on their court since October 15, 2016.

Northridge's got stronger as the match went on, holding NorthWood to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 25-16.

Wawasee better focus on containing Molly Nickell and Augist Wood as the pair were huge in Northridge's win. Nickell had 13 digs and three assists, while Wood had seven digs. That's the most assists Nickell has posted since September 2nd.

Wawasee's record now sits at 4-20. As for Northridge, their record is now 17-6.

Wawasee might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Northridge when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
